Intersectionality: “the complex, cumulative way in which the effects of multiple forms of discrimination (such as racism, sexism, and classism) combine, overlap, or intersect especially in the experiences of marginalized individuals or groups.”

Intersectionality is a part of every human being and their individual identity. It dictates many of our lived experiences, changes how we perceive things and influences our behaviors. My lived experiences as a Queer and Hmong-American man living in Minnesota have shaped my view on every single thing. Through this project, I include my perspectives as a Hmong-American showcasing juxtaposing artifacts of both cultures. They show the contrast between the Hmong and American identity, but also the validity between claiming both as our own.
